I am so excited to be in my fourth year of teaching and my third full year at Dale County High School!  I am very blessed to be here.  My husband, Sean Miller, was the band director here at DCHS before he left this earth on January 7, 2015.  I am honored to be able to continue the work he started at the school at which he wanted to spend his entire career!

My personal primary instruments are flute and piccolo. While in high school, I got the wonderful opportunity to attend many college honor bands and the Alabama All-State Honor Bands where I was a member of both the Blue and Red bands.  In 2004, I was principal chair flute of the Alabama District VIII Senior High Honor Band.  Being a member of these honor bands, as well as serving as my band director's teaching assistant during my senior year of high school, helped to foster my love for music and helped me to make the decision to become a band director!

I attended Troy University to persue my degree in Music Education.  I was a member of the Troy University "Sound of the South" Marching Band and the Troy University Symphony Band.  I then went on to earn my Master of Science in Instrumental Music Education, also from Troy University.

I am a professional member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Alabama Music Educators Association, Women Band Directors International (WBDI), and Sigma Alpha Iota.  In 2016, I was named the National Federation for High School Associations (NFHS)'s recipient, along with the Dale County High School Band, of the "Heart of the Arts" Award.  In May 2017, I was announced as a quarterfinalist for the 2018 Grammy Music Educator Award presented by the Grammy Foundation.

I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family, writing, crafting, and watching documentaries.  My late husband and I have a 5 year old daughter named Mary Madilynn and a two-year-old son, Sean Claude Miller, IIWe are HUGE Disney and Pixar fans!  We live in Midland City, AL with our cats, Bella and Constantine, and our Corgi puppy, Charlie.
